Abstract

To assess treatment outcome of ilizarov technique in infected non-union of femur fracture. This is a case of shaft femur fracture operated with femur interlocking nail which got infected. Patient undervent removal of implant with debridement followed by sequestrectomy followed by ilizarov fixation for infected nonunion and stimulan insertion. Infection got cured along with complete union of fracture site and patient is now walking with full weight bearing. Ilizarov technique is a good salvage operation for infected non-union of femur. Limb salvage is always preferred over prosthesis if limb is viable, without neurovascular deficit also if the patient is committed financially and mentally with patience to save the limb.
